South Witham Archaeological Group (SWAG)

South Witham Archeological Group (SWAG) was set up at the beginning of 1998.  One of the main aims of the group is to make people aware of the Templar's site, situated to the north of the village. To the more uninitiated of us this would involve explaining what the Templar's site is, who the Knights Templars were, and the importance of this site to the village (and surrounding villages).

A longer-term aim is to encompass all aspects of the village, to build on what we have within the Parish of South Witham and encourage all villagers to appreciate and look after what we have.

The group has been active in producing several Local History books and CDs.

Currently, the group does not meet but is still continuing its valuable work in the community.

Upcoming is resistivity work for groups (16th-19th July at Woolsthorpe Manor). If you would like to help with this or learn more about SWAGs work contact Peter or Aileen
