Stamford is a town and civil parish on the River Welland in the South Kesteven district of the county of Lincolnshire, England. It is 92 miles north of London by road, and on the east side of the A1 road to York and Edinburgh. An old coaching town, and woollen centre and Britain's first urban conservation area. It has stared in many films and TV series from the apprentice to costume dramas from the BBC and ITV.
